KNS
The KNS cooperation started early in the 1930s, when four Nordic union workers for municipal workers joined Public Services Internatioanl (PSI). At that time, the four unions were traditional municipal workers' associations as organized employees in the municipal sector. Over the years, all unions have taken up members from other groups and today's members work both in the private, state and municipal sectors. The four unions together have 1,090,000 active members. The member federations are Fag og Arbejde (FOA) in Denmark, the Federation for the public sector and the welfare areas (JHL) in Finland, the Trade Union in Norway and the Swedish Municipal Workers' Union (Kommunal) in Sweden.
