Jon Richards, UNISON, United Kingdom is Assistant General Secretary (Bargaining, Negotiating and Equalities) for UNISON. UNISON is UK’s largest union, with more than 1.3 million members, of which three quarters of a million working in local government and linked employers.

Against the backdrop of funding cuts for local councils in the UK, UNISON has struck back launched the “Save our Services” campaign to alert the public and sensitise  UK MPs to the consequences that local council shortages are already having on communities causing the shrinking and  disappearance of vital local PS.

Jon talks about how the union has developed the campaign, the first results and next steps.
