This Global Day of Care and Support , Public Services International (PSI) and Education International are releasing a new Factbook containing all the information needed to argue against profiteering and privatisation of childcare and early childhood education.
Tackling the global care crisis can only be done through supporting workers to organise and collectively bargain for well-funded public care and education services which improve the lives of us all.
But right now underfunding and privatization is enabling the finance sector to suck billions out of care services and into the pockets of the wealthiest few.
That’s why PSI is also launching a multi-year campaign for the ratification ILO Convention 156, which encourages governments to develop and promote public childcare services, redistribute care work, and allow workers with family responsibilities to exercise their human right to care.
