The Inter-American Committee of LGBTIQA+ Workers of Public Services International (PSI) strongly condemns the criminalization and systematic violence faced daily by the trans population in Colombia. The recent and brutal murder of Sara Millerey González, a 32-year-old trans woman in Bello, Antioquia, is an alarming example of the deeply rooted transphobia in our society. Sara was tortured, suffering multiple fractures in her limbs, and was later thrown into a ravine where she lost her life.
