Sharing good practices in addressing gender-based violence in the world of work in the health sector

Objetivo del proyecto

  • Comprender mejor el problema de la violencia de género en el mundo del trabajo en el sector de la salud pública y privada, a partir del intercambio de diagnósticos nacionales, subregionales y regionales sobre la problemática,

  • Aprender las mejores prácticas de FESPROSA y otras buenas experiencias nacionales de las organizaciones participantes

Project objective

  • To better understand the problem of gender-based violence in the world of work in the public and private health sector, based on the exchange of national, sub-regional and regional analysis on the issue.

  • Learn the best practices of FESPROSA and other good national experiences of the participating organisations.

Intervention strategy

Training and capacity building - a set of face-to-face training activities that aim to improve the level of information on gender-based violence in the health sector, increase the awareness of unions and provide tools for prevention of gender-based violence in the health sector in the beneficiary countries.

Good Trade Union Practices - the exchange of experiences and the building of common platforms for action at national and regional levels for the prevention of GBV in both the public and private health sectors.

Diagnosis - Based on the implementation of surveys on the problems of GVB in the different countries, the aim is to understand the specific situation of each health sector workplace

Design and proposal of public policies for the negotiation processes - the aim is to generate proposals for each country based on the previous diagnosis and training workshops, as a mechanism for defence and prevention of gender based violence in the health sector workplaces.

The beneficiaries

The project is aimed at affiliated or sister trade union organisations in the public and private health sector in Latin America: Brazil, Chile, Colombia, El Salvador and Peru.

Enfatizando la importancia de trabajar colectivamente y de realizar intervenciones preventivas para resguardar la salud de lxs profesionales de la salud - gravemente amenazada durante la crisis sanitaria - concluyó el webinario “Salud Mental y Riesgos Psicosociales de las y los Trabajadores de la Salud”, organizado el último 19 de noviembre por la ISP en el marco del proyecto Kommunal para el sector salud en América Latina.
