Organising Community Health Workers for a Progressive Vision of Public Health
This project, supported by Mondiaal FNV, aims to strengthen and organise community health workers (CHWs) in Nigeria and Senegal to promote decent work and quality public health services. CHWs, often women, serve as a critical link between communities and public health systems, yet many work under precarious conditions.
The project builds the capacity of unions to organise CHWs, engage in social dialogue, and advocate for formal recognition and better working conditions. It will also empower CHWs to connect with communities and stakeholders, ensuring their voices are heard in shaping health policy.
By supporting organising efforts, leadership training, and alliance building, the project will benefit CHWs and the broader communities they serve, contributing to stronger, more inclusive health systems.
