Building sustainable public services unions in Burkina Faso

The project was set up to promote social justice and equality by increasing the supply of quality public health services. Trade unions will work to ensure that these services are provided within the framework of a democratic and independent trade union movement committed to decent work standards. Concretely, this project supports training, awareness raising, recruitment and organisation of workers in the public health sector in Burkina Faso. At the same time, this project aims to strengthen trade union unity, the financial viability of trade unions through the collection of dues and their sustainability through the recruitment of competent staff. It will also aim to sensitize, organize and recruit young workers through communication campaigns among students.

This project targets young workers, women workers who are members of health unions and union leaders of the three unions: SAIB, SMEB and SYNSFMAB.
