Today, Lee Cheuk-yan, former General Secretary of the dissolved Hong Kong Confederation of Trade Unions, stands trial once again for peacefully exercising his freedom of association as a trade union leader. The Council of Global Unions strongly condemns his prosecution - as well as that of any other pro-democracy activists and human rights defenders - and demands their immediate and unconditional release.
