Zimbabwe’s nurses are building power. Through organising work supported by the Norsk Sykepleierforbund / Norwegian Nurses Organisation (NNO), the Zimbabwe Nurses Association has grown from about 4,000 to 7,900 members. That growth is not just a number. It should be a stronger voice in hospitals, in negotiations, and in the national fightback for a public health system that serves both workers and patients.
PSI is deepening this work through a series of organising trainings with ZINA. The aim is clear. More members must mean stronger structures. Stronger structures must mean stronger bargaining. Nurses must be able to organise in every workplace, hold firm around shared demands, and push government from promises to action.
