Stop impunity in Russia!

On 6 February PSI representatives joined Building and Wood Workers’ International (BWI) and other Global Union federations outside the Mission of the Russian Federation in Geneva to protest against the impunity of workers’ exploitation in the lead to the 2014 Sochi Winter Games Olympics.

Gathering outside the Mission of the Russian Federation in Geneva, the BWI and other Global Union federations, ITUC, IUF and PSI strongly protested against the unquantifiable human cost in exploitation and abuse of construction workers, including thousands of migrant workers. For BWI general secretary Ambet Yuson: “The BWI is appalled that beyond the record price tag of an estimated cost of $50 billion, the Sochi Winter Olympic games beginning in the Russian Federation tomorrow are tainted with workers’ blood.”
