Fighting Back PSI Launches Nurses Network to Fight for Nurses at a Global Level

We heard from nursing leaders from the Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa (DENOSA), the Fédération interprofessionnelle de la santé du Québec (FIQ) and the Norwegian Nurses Union.
Each speaker shared how their union has been winning collective agreements for their members and has been on the frontline of fighting back against short staffing, low pay and poor conditions facing nursing staff.

PSI is committed to ensuring that nursing issues are represented at the global level, including within the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
Daniel Bertossa, PSI General Secretary, shared how the network will support our nursing affiliates in their efforts to organise and campaign for safe staffing levels, better pay and working conditions for all nurses and quality public healthcare services.
Our nursing affiliates are leading the way - organising frontline nurses, demanding stronger worker protections, and holding governments and employers accountable to deliver quality healthcare and uphold the dignity of both patients and nurses.
That’s why we are launching a network for nurses to work collectively at a global level on issues that matter the most to them. The nurse's network will be driven by our affiliates and focus on activities that are relevant to their members.
