PSI at the UN High Level Dialogue on Migration and Development and the Peoples Global Action on Migration, Development and Human Rights

In the height of the global economic crisis, austerity and soaring levels of unemployment, access to essential public services and social protection is critical, yet they are drastically reduced. Migrant workers, particularly women and young workers, are disproportionately affected.

Despite their known positive contributions to societies, migrant workers suffer from discrimination, abuses and violations of their rights. PSI, along with the Global Union Federations and allied civil society and community partners, joins forces in bringing people, power and communities for migrant workers’ rights at the UN High Level Dialogue on Migration and Development (3-4 October) and the weeklong Peoples Global Action on Migration, Development and Human Rights (30 September – 4 October).
