“I am not a hero, I am a nurse”

Antonio Capodieci, an Italian emergency room nurse who works at the hospital Maggiore di Bologna, has just released a video in which he shows the raw reality of his nurse colleagues who have been fighting the coronavirus in the hospital aisles for the last few months

The video, "I am not a hero", conceived and directed by Capodieci, a nurse with a passion for video and photography, spares no criticism of the counter-productive common sense promoted by the media that insists on calling nurses heroes - while the fight for better wages and dignity at work is barely mentioned.

"I'm not a hero, I'm the same one you yelled at a few months ago, the one you insulted for 30 years because of your long waits, the one who works on Christmas and Mid-August, the one who helped you when you were driving drunk or the one you wanted to beat up," says the 3-minute video.
