Call for Donations for the Workers of Ukraine

We call on unions to contribute to a common solidarity fund established by ITUC and ETUC. The donations will be used to support workers and union members fleeing their country.

PSI and EPSU join ETUC and ITUC and reiterate their condemnation of Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine. PSI and EPSU demand that all Russian forces leave Ukraine immediately. Ukraine’s territorial integrity and its security must be respected, as well as its political independence as a democratic state.

PSI and EPSU have nine affiliates in Ukraine representing thousands of members

According to the United Nations, more than 500,000 Ukrainian people have already fled the country. If the invasion continues, they expect up to 5 million to flee. Europe’s borders will remain open to welcome refugees, mainly families with elderly and children, while men between 18 and 60 years old are banned from leaving the country under martial law.

PSI and EPSU have nine affiliates in Ukraine representing thousands of members. People and unionists face destruction of their workplaces, union facilities and homes. Workers are being injured and killed. As public service workers, many of our members must continue to work, in health and care services, in water and energy, education and other key sectors.

PSI and EPSU call on their members to extend practical solidarity to the workers and people of Ukraine. We call on unions to contribute to a common solidarity fund established by ITUC and ETUC. The donations will be used to support workers and union members fleeing their country (shelter, food, supplies, transport…).

Contributions to the Solidarity Fund should be sent to:
