Public service trade unions worldwide, represented by Public Services International (PSI) and the European Federation of Public Service Unions (EPSU), stand in strong solidarity with Budapest Pride 2025 and all those advancing the rights, dignity, and equality of LGBT+ people in Hungary and beyond.

Comms
At a time when democratic freedoms are under threat and LGBT+ communities face discrimination and hostile laws, trade unions must raise their voices. Attacks on LGBT+ rights are attacks on human rights, workers’ rights, and inclusive public services.
We affirm that:
All workers, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression or sexual characteristics, deserve equal rights and protections
Public services must serve everyone fairly
Trade unions are key in fighting exclusion and defending democratic rights at work and in society
PSI and EPSU salute the courage of Budapest Pride 2025 and commit to continued advocacy for equality, decent work, and LGBT+ rights as part of the trade union movement and social justice.
An EPSU and PSI Global LGBT+ Coordinating Committee delegation will proudly be present at Budapest Pride, standing shoulder to shoulder in support of the LGBT+ struggle and to reaffirm our collective fight for dignity and inclusion.
Solidarity forever!
