August 12: International Youth Day

It is often said that today's youth focus only on individual struggles and competitions. However, here we are, the young workers of Interamerica, to demonstrate that united we seek the common good and put the people above profit, with dignity and democracy.

Young workers face an unprecedented situation, with precarious jobs and unemployment. It is crucial that society and employers recognize and address these difficulties, ensuring fair and equitable social protection for all.

In the workplace, young people are more vulnerable and less aware of their rights. We call for inclusive education and training, enabling young people to access decent and secure job opportunities, without becoming indebted and impoverished.

The economic, environmental and geopolitical future is uncertain, and young people will bear a greater responsibility. It is essential that unions and society work together to ensure a sustainable and just future for the next generations.

Finally, the integration of young people at all levels of union leadership and activity is vital. Only in this way can we ensure that our movement survives and grows, defending the rights of all workers with strength and unity.
