PSI and its regional organisation EPSU have 10 affiliates in the two countries: three in Armenia and seven in Azerbaijan. We are concerned that the lasting effects of the hostilities could oppose unionists from one country against fellow unionists from the other. This we do not want, and we must avoid at any cost.

PSI supports the struggle for a new constitution that enshrines a new economic model and the complete reform of the state, in view of which the transitional government should arrange for a constitutional referendum to be held at the same time as the general elections in April.

The devastating hurricanes ETA and IOTA - which hit countries of Central America, Colombia, the Caribbean and the USA - are related to climate and extreme weather events that become more frequent and intense, as the temperature increases due to the uncontrolled emission of greenhouse gases.

PSI has been at the forefront of the Global Unions in building LGBT+ rights for decades. This proposal will outline some of the steps PSI could take to support our affiliates when it comes to campaigning for LGBT+ rights.
