The SDG4 Youth & Student Network, hosted by UNESCO, is organising this online event to present key findings of their youth survey Shaping the future of public service professions concerning youth perspectives on public services careers. Senior Policy Officer, Daria Cibrario is representing PSI.
Approximately 3 in 4 young people are interested in a career in the public services. In a world-first survey conducted on youth and the public services by the SDG4 Youth & Student Network, it is established that young people aged between 15 to 35 years are interested in the future of the public service sector.
Drawing on key findings regarding youth aspirations for the public services, challenges in terms of career trajectory and trust in the public services, and specific findings for the education sector, the Africa region, and vulnerable communities, this event aims to examine the tensions in youth perspectives on public service employment and inclusion.
