YHCW: WHO Health Workforce and COVID-19 Webinar Action Series kicks off on 5th May

The World Health Organization (WHO) will be organising an action series of webinars as part of its 2021 as the International Year of Health and Care Workers. The webinars are meant to put the different aspects of the Year’s theme – Protect. Invest. Together - in perspective.

The first webinar will dwell on “Protect”. And it will be taking place on Wednesday 5th May. To enable participation from all regions, it will take place twice during the day as follows; 09h00 – 10h30 CET and 16h00 – 17h30 CET.

Jim Campbell, Director of the WHO Health Workforce Department will contextualise the International Year of Health and Care workers.

Baba Aye, the PSI Health and Social Services Officer will be the lead speaker on the “Decent work, occupational health and safety, and gender dimensions of “Protect”’ panel. Country examples of Human Resources for Health approaches will also be discussed on another panel.
