The third session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee to develop an international legally binding instrument on plastic pollution, including in the marine environment (INC-3) will take place from 13 to 19 November 2023 at the United Nations Environment Programme Headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.

Together with IndustriALL (plastic production), IUF (plastic use) and WIEGO (informal waste workers), PSI is following this international negotiation as part of the Workers and Trade Unions UN Major Group delegation coordinated by the ITUC representing waste collection, disposal and sanitation and related public service workers engaged in the fight against plastic waste pollution.
PSI contributed already to the second session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee to develop an international legally binding instrument on plastic pollution, including in the marine environment (INC-2), from 29 May to 2 June 2023 at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Headquarters in Paris, France.
