We would like to invite you to a consultation webinar on the 1st International Conference on Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels. This Conference is being co-hosted by the governments of Colombia and the Netherlands and will take place in Santa Marta, Colombia from 24 - 29 April 2026. 24 countries have signed the declaration that led to the convening of this Conference. In this declaration, the countries note that: "We reaffirm our shared determination to work collectively towards a just, orderly and equitable transition away from fossil fuels".
PSI and many trade union affiliates from the region are planning to be at the Conference - there will be opportunities for us to call for a public pathway to energy transitions, and for quality public services as a vital element of a just transition.
PSI is already a signatory to the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty, recognizing the importance of moving away from fossil fuel usage, towards a just global economic order, if we are to retain a liveable planet.
You are invited to participate in a consultation process as we prepare for the Conference.
Consultation date and time:
Tuesday 17 March 2026 at 9pm UTC
