PSI has always been at the forefront in calling for fair and ethical recruitment of migrant workers. We were among the first who brought our demands at the ILO and in other international forums for the abolition of the policy and practice of charging recruitment fees on migrant workers. Through our campaigns and alliances with the wider trade union movement and civil society, we saw the successful establishment of the ILO Principles and Guidelines on Fair Recruitment and the inclusion of the no recruitment fees principle in the United Nations Global Compact on Migration.
The Global Forum for Responsible Recruitment provides a policy space to discuss ways to operationalise these principles of fair and ethical recruitment. We invite affiliates to register and join our trade union delegation in putting forward existing good practices, challenges and key messages from the trade union movement in this forum.

Jointly hosted by the Institute for Human Rights and Business (IHRB), International Organization for Migration (IOM), and International Labour Organization (ILO), the 2021 Global Forum for Responsible Recruitment (#GFRR2021) is a thought leadership platform for accelerating the fair, ethical, and responsible recruitment of migrant workers. It will convene a global ecosystem and marketplace – of governments, employers and employer’s organisations, workers and workers’ organisations, global brands, suppliers, recruitment agencies, intergovernmental and civil society organisations – to take stock, nurture ideas, foster engagement, and inspire action.
Kindly note that interpretation services will be provided for selected sessions of the Forum in English, French, Spanish and Arabic, as specified on the Agenda on the Forum website.
