Mark Langevin, PSI Sub-regional Secretary for North America, spoke at the event reminding the delegates of the necessity for unions to join international organisations like PSI to fight against for example the privatisation of health care. Mark Langevin explained that combatting the free trade agreements was another major battle. These agreements contribute to the abolishment of unionisation which consequently attacks working conditions and public services.
