Local and Regional Government/Municipal

Local (municipal) and regional government workers deliver essential public services to millions of people worldwide servicing cities, metropolitan areas and territories. PSI defends and promotes the human and labour rights of these workers so that they can deliver quality public services and advocates for socially just and inclusive cities for all.

Health & Social Care Services

Quality health care is a fundamental human right as it refers to each one's life. Quality health care is important to families, societies and the economy – because healthy workers are more productive. The PSI – which represents 8 million health care workers – believes that care must be available to people who need it, not just to those who can pay. Health care is dangerous work. These workers, and the services they provide, are worthy of everyone’s support.

Utilities

Universal access to safe and reliable utilities (energy, water and sanitation) is fundamental for human dignity and social justice. Market dynamics are unable to provide these services to the poorest communities. Unions and NGO allies are fighting to block water and energy privatisation and ensure universal access and public delivery.

PSI connects the struggles of workers, their families and their communities with key global and regional actors influencing public service provision.

National Administration

The national administration is essential for any society. This is where health, security, jobs, education, energy, housing and many other policies and regulations come to life, are discussed and develop. PSI works hard to address these issues and defend the interests of national administration workers and their trade union rights.

Education Support and Cultural Workers

Education is at the heart of development and inclusive societies. Our children deserve quality education and education workers require decent working conditions. Funding of public education is key.
