Bringing workers together to fight for tax justice
Network of Unions for Tax Justice
Network of Unions for Tax Justice
Welcome to the Network of Unions for Tax Justice webpage
Our Network brings trade unions together to campaign for international tax reforms which benefit workers.
We coordinate this work by gathering and sharing information, pooling resources for advocacy and creating a forum for unions to exchange views with governments, regional and international institutions.
Our focus is on multinational corporations. Our goals are that multinationals should:
Be taxed as single global entities (“unitary taxation”), using a formula which recognises labour’s essential role in the creation of profits. This would end the flow of profits into tax havens, out of sight of workers, and make corporate taxation fairer.
Pay tax on their profits at no less than 25 per cent, to ensure that all multinationals are making a fair contribution to the cost of public services on which workers and their families depend, such as public healthcare and education.
Publicly report all revenues, profits and tax positions on a country-by-country basis, including the value of tax incentives, so workers can confirm that reforms are truly leading to fairer taxation and an end to tax avoidance.
