Mayra Castro is Communications Coordinator for Inter-America

Mayra Castro is a Brazilian journalist, Master's student in Communication Sciences, and Marketing specialist who has been working for more than 10 years with independent communication and journalism on labor, human rights, and socio-environmental issues. She was Communications Coordinator at the Trade Union Confederation of the Americas (TUCA) from 2014 to 2018.

Colombia will adopt concrete measures to guarantee gender equity in the workplace, such as extending public regulations and policies on maternity and paternity leave, after a union-led campaign secured ratification of ILO Convention 156 that deals with "workers with family responsibilities".
