Banaani will cooperate with relevant affiliates to coordinate the implementation of an organising and advocacy strategy to advance the labour rights of Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) and Anganwadi workers in India.
She is currently living in Assam; with the lockdown being extended and cross state restrictions likely to be maintained for some time, Banaani will be moving to Chennai when circumstances allow her to move.
This International Women's Day, we celebrate the women who turned "volunteer" exploitation into worker power through feminist organising and collective action to secure maternity leave and wages.
