When public services are privatised, maximising corporate profits replaces the public interest as the driving force. PSI links local struggles against privatisation and is the strongest global voice on the issue.

Workers with disabilities

Addressing disability is part of trade union action in fighting inequality and injustice and protecting the most vulnerable. Understanding disability in this social sense also highlighted the importance of treating it in an intersectional way, particularly in relation to gender and socio-economic status.

LGBT+

Public sector unions play a critical broader role in educating and leading the community to a better understanding of LGBT+ issues, by using the workplace as a powerful and rare opportunity to reach across family, cultural and class divisions to engage and educate.
